John and his wife Debby moved to the Sharon area in 1990 to assume the responsibilities of General Manager for Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. In the spring of 1991, John was offered a partnership by Mr. William O'Donnell and purchased the funeral home and became President.
Since living in Sharon, he has been active in many civic organizations. John is a Past President of the Sharon Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He has been active in the business division of the United Way, Past President of Christian Associates of the Shenango Valley and has served on the board of directors for many area organizations. He is active in his church, having served as a trustee and currently serving on the endowment committee. He is also the founder of Koats for Kids Foundation which provides over a thousand coats annually to needy children in Mercer County.
John and Debby have two sons who are both involved in the family funeral homes. John Tyson Maynard who is the Supervisor of the Baird Funeral Home, Greenville PA and Ian Brent Maynard who has completed his schooling at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and has begun his apprenticeship with the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home, Sharon, PA.
John is a graduate of Fairmont State University, West Virginia University, Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, National Foundation of Funeral Service and is a licensed Funeral Director in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

Debby Maynard, Corporate Secretary, Office Manager
Debby has been involved in the family businesses of Sample-O’Donnell and Baird Funeral Homes for many years. As a truly operated “ family business “ she has been involved from the early days of when she and her husband, John, were the only two employees. As time has progressed and the firm has grown she has overseen the office duties and works very closely with funeral staff assisting wherever and whenever needed.
Debby is involved in her church and social organizations. Today, her greatest enjoyment is making over her grandchildren. Debby is a graduate of Washington Irving High School, Clarksburg, WV and attended Fairmont State University.

 | J. Tyson Maynard, Vice President, Supervising Funeral Director of Baird Funeral Home, Greenville, PA.

Tyson has " grown up" in the funeral home. He began working as a young man parking cars and sweeping floors. He is a graduate of Hickory High School and a 2000 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Business and Communications. Tyson completed his funeral education at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and is a licensed funeral director and certified pre-arrangement planner. His duties include funeral directing, integration of new technologies and supervision of beverement services. Tyson is active in church and civic organizations. He currently holds offices in various fraternal organizations as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the both the Greenville Salvation Army and the Community Child Care Center in Sharon, Pa. and is co-ordinator of the Koats for Kids Program for the Greenville area. He and his wife, Margot, have two small children : Penelope E. "Penny" and John Liam Maynard.

Ian B. Maynard, Intern Funeral Director, Property Manager
Ian is currently serving his internship with Sample-O’Donnell and Baird Funeral Homes. He completed his education at West Virginia University and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Ian lives in Greenville, PA and is responsible for the management of the Greenville property. Ian is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, PA and is a member of the Greenville Kiwanis Club and many other fraternal and service organizations in the area.

Stacey Dudash, Chief of Staff, Funeral Associate

Stacey, a lifelong resident of the Shenango Valley, started her career at Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home in October of 1999. She graduated from what is now know as Kennedy Catholic High School in 1985. After attending Slippery Rock University, she married Ryan Dudash in May of 1989. They have two children, a son, Neal, and a daughter, Kelsey.
Stacey began her career with Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home in 1999 as a part time secretary and has advanced to Chief of Staff for Operations. She coordinates all office, financial activities, bereavement support, community education programming and is involved with hospice training and volunteering at our local hospitals. She was promoted to Chief of Staff / Operations in July 2007 and is valuable member of the funeral home team.

Laura is a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Sharpsville High School. She is currently an assistant of both Sample-O’Donnell and Baird Funeral Homes while attending college at Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus, Sharon, PA . Laura currently resides in Greenville, PA and is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, PA and is active in civic organizations in the Greenville area.
